Turnover is terrible which is no surprise but puts a huge burden on those who stick around. There is no overtime, so that's either good or bad depending on your needs. There are no paid holidays and you have to use your own PTO if you want to get paid. I really liked this job a lot but for all the responsibilities the pay is garbage and raises are minuscule. You might get asked to cover at another clinic and that is always not ideal because the clinics are all set up differently. I have worked with some fantastic people, and if you like working with a variety of patients this is a great job for that. Better yet just do it however you think and learn from your mistakes. Training is horrible, so you gotta be a self starter and not be afraid to ask questions. All this makes it easy to lose focus no matter how hard you try. Computers are freezing all the time, like so much it's not even a surprise. Phones are ringing, patients need scheduling, referrals need to be called, and the therapists constantly asking for support in a variety of tasks. Easy enough if that's all you have to do, which it is not. So getting the info correct, inputting the info properly into the system is extremely important. It’s an awful experience, mentally and physically exhausting.Ī PSS at NovaCare is very important because you need to verify patient benefits for therapy and doing it wrong can cost the company or patient thousands of dollars, and it's easy to get it wrong because getting proper information from insurance companies can be confusing and time consuming. You give them an inch and they’ll tell you your inch wasn’t good enough, and take 2 miles. But in reality they are not interested in paying their employees more then a bare minimum but will ask and demand waaayy more. It’s a backhanded “we are working on it”. Upper management thinks “all millennials think about is money” and when corrected to wanting a live able wage and to not work 40 hours a week to still live paycheck to pay check. When asked for feedback it’s highly frowned upon to mention a raise, or it’s even more looked down on to speak about how much you make. With patients being unruly and management treating employees like lifeless robots it’s impossible to stay happy. ![]() Directions are never clear, instructions are just as unclear. Direct managers are just physical therapist no management training, which explains their awful communication skills. Medical benefits are almost ridiculous expensive. I’ve been told I cannot fall under 40 hours, If I do I have to use my PTO to get me to 40 hours. Without being asked, some management assume you’ll do it based on position. Clinic hours will extend and No other coverage will be put into place and you’ll be expected to stay for extra hours. Even though the schedules of the therapist could easily be adjusted by an hour to illuminate this issue. In my experience, I’ve been put into the position to work 11 hour shifts due to “witness” issues. ![]()
